I hear so many people say they want to be successful, but they don’t know how. They have tried following all sorts of involved rules, yet they need only one.

Sir Isaac Newton was once asked how he discovered the law of gravitation, he replied, “By thinking about it all the time.” There is your answer, “By thinking about it all the time.” Each of us becomes what we think about, all of or most of the time. It was Norman Vincent Peal that told us that when you think about what you desire, all the time, it moves from the conscious mind to the subconscious mind in a form of osmosis until the dream you have eventually has you, becomes you, is you.

So if you can identify what it is you spend most of your time thinking about, you can predict what you are going to become, it’s either going to be a positive or a negative outcome. Tony Robins said you can decide on and, or change your destiny by the thoughts you have.

Now, just thinking and never doing will not help you get what you’re looking for. Thought without action is as useless as action without thought. When we were kids, we used to ask each other trick questions, one was, “If three birds sat on a fence and one decided to fly away, how many birds would remain?” most people would answer “Two” and we would say “No! there would still be three birds remaining because we said, one bird had decided to fly away, we never said he did fly away.” Regretfully many people decide to do something but they never take action. or they make excuses, have delay tactics, not realizing YOU HAVE TO DO BEFORE YOU CAN HAVE. Excuse the shouting, I only want you to really get the message.

The person who makes up his mind to reach a high and difficult goal must do a great many things to achieve that goal. It is his constant thoughts and actions that leads him to make it a reality.

Marshall Field, a great businessman from the past had 12 rules for success

The value of time
The success of perseverance
The pleasure of working
The dignity of simplicity
The worth of character
The power of kindness
The influence of example
The obligation of duty
The wisdom of economy
The virtue of patience
The improvement of talent
The joy of originating

As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he Proverbs 23:7

So as you prepare for 2016 remember Your life is controlled by your thoughts. Your thoughts are controlled by your goals. Have you set your goals yet and will you take action, or will you look back in a years’ time, with regret for not choosing wisely today?

I truly desire for you to have a prosperous year ahead, do your best and let God do the rest.
