Successful people use time management

Successful people use time management

‘It has been my observation that most people get ahead during the time that others waste. Henry Ford’

Imagine a bank that each morning credited your account with R86400. During the course of the day, you were free to use as much or as little of the money as you desired. You could use it any way you wanted, there was just one condition, whatever amount you failed to use could not be carried over to te next day, and you could not save any of it for the future. But the next morning another amount of R86400 was deposited into your account.

If you found yourself in such a position, what would you do? If you are like most people, you would very soon figure out a way to spend that money every day, you would buy everything you required for your immediate needs, and if you were wise, you would soon figure out a way to invest that money on a daily basis, so that you would get the greatest return in the long run.

THE CLOCK IS TICKING

Whether you know it or not, you face that situation every day of your life, the ‘Bank’ is time, and you receive 86,400 seconds each day which you can spend any way you like and if you fail to use these seconds they are gone forever.

Successful people like Thomas Edison and Benjamin Franklin believed in the value of time, Edison said that time was the most important thing, and B Franklin said ‘Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of’

People do not realize that the way they spend their time is something they can control. They do not consider how little time we actually have to achieve success in life. In fact, a 72-year-old person will have spent about 21 years sleeping, 14 years working, 7yrs on personal hygiene, 6yrs eating, 6yrs traveling 5yrs waiting in line4yrs learning, 3yrs in meetings, 2yrs returning calls, 1yr searching for things lost and 3yrs on other activities.

People don’t realize how much time they waste, and they don’t have a strategy for managing their time. And if you value your time then you need to plan your time. To enjoy a balanced time-based lifestyle, including mind, body, soul, health exercise and diet, meditating, Spirituality, family, friends, social connections, and enjoyment. A 95-year-old woman on her death bed said ‘If I had my life to live over again, I wouldn’t worry about carrying an umbrella, rather dance in the rain, not worry so much about things that never happened, and I would have drunk more champagne.

Those who neglect the present moment throw away all they have

Keep wealthy, healthy and wise
